Sauna restaurant Meri is a feel-good restaurant that combines breathtakingly beautiful nature and architecture with Finnish bathing and sauna traditions, all in the same space by the sea! Our services are open all year round. The restaurant is located on a number one location in the Inner Harbour, just around the corner from Vaasa’s city center. We are the Nordic region’s largest floating sauna facility and can accommodate over a thousand guests. Unlike many other Finnish and Nordic competitors, Meri stands out by being 100% floating. With just over 1,000 square meters, Meri is the largest investment in the tourism and restaurant industry in Ostrobothnia in many years.
Sauna restaurant Meri, which literally rises from the Baltic Sea, is a tribute to the wonderful and manifold landscape that characterizes the Kvarken area. With its ongoing land uplift, the Kvarken archipelago is Finland’s only natural heritage on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Along the coast of Ostrobothnia, the phenomenon of land uplift is very tangible. The Kvarken archipelago has a great geological value because the pace of land uplift is one of the fastest in the world. The Ostrobothnian coast is probably the best place in the world to experience and understand the change that the recent ice age has caused. During the span of a single generation lots of new grains and moraines are formed that create a fantastic landscape out in the archipelago. Kvarken’s world natural heritage area is a prominent feature in our interior design, both in the sauna department and in the restaurant.
In front of the sauna & spa department, you will find a 12 m long heated spa pool with an air jet function uniquely designed for the premises of the sauna restaurant. In addition to relaxing in the sauna, you can take a dip in the fresh sea water of Vaasa all year round or cool off with champagne in the atmospheric sauna department lounge.

The Finnish sauna and the fresh sea water offer pleasure for all senses. Our unique sea bath has the most amazing sea views on the west coast all year round The Meri Sauna & Spa section accommodates about 80 adults. In addition to single tickets, you can also buy a multiple entrance card or become a member for a longer period of time. In our sauna department there is a large unisex sauna and a smaller sauna that can accommodate about 8 people. The smaller sauna can be booked for private use two hours at a time. Outside the sauna area there is a 12 square meter heated spa pool equipped with massage functions. In addition to taking a hot bath in the sauna, you can immerse yourself in Vaasa’s fresh seawater all year round. Afterwards, you can cool off with champagne in the sauna department’s atmospheric lounge! In addition, you can also book your own jacuzzi for you and your party. We offer wonderful sea views and personal dining! Our entire sauna department as well as all terraces fall under our serving area.

The fee is invoiced once a year. Membership is sold in a limited edition of 300. When the number of members has reached the maximum, new memberships go on sale only when existing members quit.
The membership is valid for one year from Meri’s opening day.
With the Meri Workday card, you can visit the Sauna & Spa department and the sea bath 10 times on optional weekdays (Monday – Thursday). Towels, seat pads, shampoo and shower gel are included. Valid for one year from the card’s purchase date or from Meri’s opening day.
With the Meri Weekend card, you can visit the Sauna & Spa department and the sea bath 10 times on optional weekend days (Friday – Sunday). Towels, seat pads, shampoo and shower gel are included. Valid for one year from the card’s purchase date or from Meri’s opening day.

Our private sauna can accommodate 2-8 people and can be booked for two hours at a time. When you book our private sauna, you also have access to your own private jacuzzi with a fantastic sea view. Come and spend an unforgettable moment with your friends, family or customers! The price also includes access to the Meri Sauna & Spa department and the sea bath. Towels, seat pads, shampoo and shower gel are included.
Sauna restaurant Meri is located by the sea in Vaasa in the inner harbor, about 400 m from Vaasa market square. The area offers breathtaking sea views. There is plenty of parking space and street parking possibilities in the nearness of the sauna restaurant. The restaurant complex also has 40 guest berths available to our customers, which means that you can arrive smoothly by sea when the waters are ice free. For light traffic, it is very easy to reach on foot, by bicycle or by electric kickboard, and there are also many bicycle parking spots in the area. Excellent light traffic routes from all directions are open and maintained all year round. All routes to the restaurant and the Sauna & Spa department are designed to be completely accessible.
